Trying not to get too excited

With all the mechanical problems with the cart, with my long commute, with the challenges inherent in running a cart next to a highway and two freeways (I have to clean everything all the time!!!), I’ve been looking for some other locations.  There’s a lot to consider for a new location, including: a place to store the cart, storage location having power, storage location having water and sewage, storage location having a tall enough door to allow entrance/egress of Coffee Cycle, a setup spot (that has to be in front of another business- SD Health Dept. rules), a short distance between storage and setup, a place where people want/need coffee, and a place where I want to set up.

One of my main scouted locations is somewhere along Grand Ave in Pacific Beach.  I’m also looking in Ocean Beach and in Old Town.  I like the idea of Grand Ave because there are so many residents in Crown Point and generally just South of Garnet.  I don’t want to be just another business on Garnet that opens and closes in a year or two, and I don’t want to be too near the beach with all the drunks and ne’er-do-wells that seem to congregate down there.  I’d love to do something in North PB or along Cass St, but there are already a number of shops along Cass, and I don’t want to get too close to Bird Rock Coffee.

So I had scouted all that out and chosen a few likely businesses (along Grand) that I might pair up with about 2 weeks ago.  I’ve also been looking at the LoopNet app on my phone for commercial realestate.  If I could find a space small enough to be affordable, yet also in an area I’m interested in, that would be great.  Especially in OB, where streets and sidewalks are so narrow, setting up Coffee Cycle outside would be more difficult.  So I’ve been keeping an eye out.

Well, today I think I may have found a spot.  There’s A Lot to do still, but I’m thinking this might work…
